The rock carvings of Banghucheon in Ulsan have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, making Korea the 17th country to hold a World Heritage site. These carvings feature images created over approximately 6,000 years, from the Neolithic period to the Goryeo period, and are particularly famous for their "oldest whale hunting paintings." Following its inscription as a World Heritage site, the number of tourists has increased, and Ulsan City is promoting various projects for preservation and publicity. This will help transform Banghucheon's rock carvings into a global historical and cultural tourism destination.
