His wealth was primarily derived from PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCII), a data center company he founded in 2011. Previously, Otto Toto Sugiri was known as a pioneer in the Indonesian technology industry, founding Indonet, the first internet provider, in 1994 and Sigma Cipta Caraka, a software company later acquired by Telkom Indonesia. The nickname "Bill Gates of Indonesia" was given due to his significant contributions to the development of technology in Indonesia. DCII became the first Tier-IV data center in Southeast Asia with three main locations in Cibitung, Karawang, and Jakarta.
