A Filipina domestic worker named Raguindin Alma Bassig was sentenced to three years and two months in prison for stealing money and jewelry worth S$3.01 million from her employer in Singapore. Raguindin used the stolen money to buy a condominium, car, and land in her home country. Although she pleaded guilty, the stolen items were not recovered. The victim felt betrayed by the domestic worker's abuse of trust. The judge imposed this sentence as a warning to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
