At an elementary school somewhere in Gangwon-do..it's probably a branch school..
I've seen news about 6 children from multicultural families bullying 1 child from a Korean parent household as a group..
It seems the total number of students is around 8..
Perhaps because it's rural, there were more children from multicultural families..
The reason the multicultural children bullied the Korean household child was..
Surprisingly(?)..
"You're different from us.."
I've heard news about children from multicultural families being bullied in Korea..
But I've never encountered news about multicultural children bullying a Korean child before..
It's not that Koreans are bad people..
In any community, a group with numerical superiority..
seems to have an instinct(?) not to accept individuals different from themselves..
When early Homo sapiens left Africa and expanded to other continents..
They probably encountered Neanderthals..
There's a theory that Homo sapiens, who had numerical superiority, drove Neanderthals to extinction..
Have you heard of albinism..?
It's a condition(?) caused by problems with melanin pigmentation..
White tigers are albino..and white snakes are also albino..
Many animals have albino individuals..
Humans also have albinism..
For unclear reasons..
Certain regions in Africa have an extremely high prevalence of albinism..
They have the characteristic coarse hair and flat nose of Black people..
But their entire body from head to toe is white..
But these albinos, because of their different appearance, not only don't fit in well with their ethnic groups..
In fact..
Due to a false rumor that eating albino meat leads to good health and longevity..
They become targets of hunting despite being human..
Like this..
We Homo sapiens..
seem to have a tendency for dominant groups not to accept minority groups..
Whether this is how we've maintained identical(?)...superior(?) genes, I'm not sure..
But it seems we've been exceptionally good at following the principle of survival of the fittest..
This is not limited to physical differences..
It often extends to hostility toward minority opinions different from the group's view..
Long story short..
I hope this becomes a space where both majority and minority opinions are respected and can be expressed..
Finally..
When faced with news about a Korean child being bullied simply for being different from us..
Standing out too much or being too handsome or cool could be a problem..
Maybe the reason I've disliked going out has been an instinct of a rare individual..
That's a thought that crosses my mind..
