A soldier, Mr. A, from the 1st Marine Division based in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, illegally left his unit on the afternoon of August 8th by climbing over a fence. After his escape was confirmed through reports from fellow soldiers and CCTV footage, the military police cooperated with the railway police to apprehend Mr. A within four hours while he was traveling by train. Although Mr. A was wearing his uniform, he was not carrying any weapons. The military police are currently investigating the circumstances of Mr. A's escape and plan to take appropriate legal action.
