Christie CP4415m RGBH 4K Projector: Sounding the Alarm on the Ceiling with 15,000 Lumens at CEDIA 2026

Does a 15,000-lumen cinema projector make sense in a home setting? Christie brought its native 4K CP4415m-RGBH to the spotlight at CEDIA 2026.

Christie clearly has a different definition of "compact" than we do.

The Christie CP4415m-RGBH weighs in at 132 pounds (approximately 60kg), consumes about 1,060 watts, uses a built-in liquid cooling system, and can output up to 15,000 lumens. Christie also states that this product is suitable for screens up to 52 feet (approximately 15.8m) wide.

You might need to reinforce your ceiling and consider a much larger house.

The CP4415m-RGBH's debut at the CEDIA Expo 2026 isn't its first appearance. Christie unveiled its RGBH cinema projector lineup in late 2025, and the CP4415m-RGBH is already being deployed in commercial movie theaters. The reason why this product's showcase in Denver is more intriguing is that Christie is now explicitly positioning this projector as a premium home cinema option.

Christie isn't simply adding laser output to its typical home theater projectors and calling them "professional." The company is taking technology designed for movie theaters, screening rooms, and post-production facilities and essentially reversing course by asking if some people building very large dedicated home cinemas might want a piece of it. Considering some of the theaters we saw at CEDIA 2025, the answer is probably "yes."

Native 4K and 3-Chip DLP

Christie Launches Native 4K Home Projector CP4415m-RGBH: 15,000 Lumens

The CP4415m-RGBH utilizes a 0.98-inch 4K SST 3-chip DLP cinema imaging system with native 4096 x 2160 resolution. Since each primary color has its own dedicated DMD, generating a 4K image doesn't require a color wheel or pixel shift.

Christie's Phazer hybrid laser illumination system, combined with high-brightness cinema lenses, delivers up to 15,000 lumens along with DCI-P3 color reproduction. The laser system guarantees an operational lifespan of over 50,000 hours, and the sealed optical path is designed to minimize dust contamination and long-term maintenance requirements.

For comparison, the JVC DLA-NZ500 measures 2,000 lumens, the Sony Bravia Projector 7 measures 2,200 lumens, and the Epson QB1000 measures 3,300 lumens. Even the significantly more expensive Sony Bravia Projector 9 only measures 3,400 lumens.

The Epson QL7000, a residential projector specifically designed for large screens and ambient light in rooms, only reaches a maximum of 10,000 lumens. Christie adds 50% on top of that.

The contrast ratio is measured at up to 6,000:1 full field on/off, but there's an important caveat. Christie specifies the maximum brightness when using a high-brightness cinema lens and the maximum contrast ratio when using one of its UHC lenses. Therefore, it shouldn't be interpreted that both maximum values can always be achieved simultaneously.

Christie also integrates electronic color conversion, LiteLOC white point tracking, a motorized intelligent lens system, and its CineLife+ electronics platform. LiteLOC is designed to maintain color balance and brightness as the laser light source ages, which becomes significantly more important when a projector is expected to remain installed for several years rather than being replaced with each new HDMI specification.

4K 120Hz? Read the details

Christie states that its CP4415m-RGBH platform can handle very high bitrate content up to 4K 120Hz, but gamers may have to put their credit cards back in their wallets for a moment.

The projector has two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two DisplayPort 1.2 connections, four 12G-SDI inputs, and Ethernet. Christie specifies that 4K 120Hz operation is achieved when used with the GDC SR-6400 integrated media block, rather than through the HDMI 2.1 input of a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

In other words, this is a cinema projector capable of very high frame rate professional playback. It's not a 132-pound gaming projector. Of course, it may not definitively settle the debate about who will cede their TV to whom, but that's what it says.

Why should you have this at home?

The clear use case is a large dedicated home theater with a very large projection screen, especially in installations where significant light output can be beneficial due to the use of acoustically transparent materials.

At 33.5 x 26.8 x 12 inches and 132 pounds, the CP4415m-RGBH is significantly more manageable than Christie's truly extreme projection systems, but no one should be under the illusion that it can be casually bolted to the ceiling on a Saturday afternoon. Professional installation, significant power, careful ventilation planning, and an optional heat exhaust feature depending on the room are required.

The internal cooling system is integrated, and Christie describes the projector as compact and quiet for a cinema projector. Again, context is everything. This is still a piece of commercial cinema hardware sitting in your home.

Where does it fit in Christie's home theater lineup?

Christie is further solidifying its position in the ultra-premium residential cinema space.

At Audio Advice Live 2026, we covered the Christie Korus 4K1000A-KS, a much more common residential option that uses a single-chip DLP design to deliver over 10,000 lumens.

On the opposite end of our spectrum sits the $400,000 Christie Eclipse G3, which we selected as our no-holds-barred projector at CEDIA 2025. The Eclipse uses a six-DLP architecture and generates up to 30,000 ANSI lumens, targeting home theaters that have reached industrial scale in both screen size and bank balance.

The CP4415m-RGBH offers something different. It's a native 4K three-chip DLP cinema architecture, with immense brightness, commercial-grade processing, and a chassis designed for purpose-built residential projection rooms.

Christie currently prices the CP4415m-RGBH at $68,900, which may be subject to tariffs.

While MicroLED and increasingly larger TVs continue to encroach on territory once dominated by projectors, there's still no practical alternative when the screen truly needs to be massive.

Christie knows a thing or two about giant screens.

The CP4415m-RGBH is interesting because it brings real cinema hardware to the residential market, where some customers are no longer satisfied with consumer-grade projectors pushed to their limits. Native 4K three-chip DLP, 15,000 lumens, DCI-P3 color, commercial-grade processing, and a 50,000-hour laser light source make this a completely different proposition from typical home theater projectors.
