Minister of Environment Kim Sung-hwan visited the funeral home of Seo Young-chul, representative of humidifier disinfectant victims, to offer condolences. The minister promised that the government would make every effort to compensate the victims through a responsible process and pledged to do its best to prevent any unjust damage from occurring to those who have not yet been recognized as victims through re-examination. While the victim group demanded revision of the special law, arguing for expansion of the scope of victim recognition and establishment of a special investigation committee for further truth-finding, the minister countered that additional truth confirmation is unnecessary since the responsibility in the manufacturing process and the state's responsibility have already been revealed.
