ARTOTEL Grand Prima Surabaya is putting its new identity to work. The Hayam Wuruk hotel is pairing accommodation with rotating art, weekly music and entertainment, and a late-night food menu, giving travellers and Surabaya locals considerably more to do without leaving the property.
The art programme offers the clearest indication of where the hotel is heading. An exhibition running from June to September 2026 brings curated works into the property’s public spaces, allowing guests to encounter local art during a stay, a meal or even a quick visit. The September closing date applies to the current exhibition rather than the hotel’s involvement with the local creative community, with ARTOTEL Grand Prima Surabaya planning to continue providing exhibition space for artists after the show concludes.

For overnight guests, the Studio Room adds a useful little luxury to the standard-room category with its own bathtub. It is a simple detail, admittedly, but one that may become increasingly appealing after a full day navigating Surabaya.
The hotel gets livelier as the week progresses at One Deck. Mondays are reserved for karaoke, Tuesdays for classic rock and Wednesdays for an ’80s soundtrack. DJs take over on Fridays and Saturdays, while Sundays slow the tempo with a movie marathon. The fixed weekly schedule makes it fairly easy to choose a visit according to your preferred form of after-hours entertainment.
Food is available later into the evening through The Late Shift, with Indonesian, Asian and Western dishes starting from IDR 60,000. Throughout August 2026, the hotel is also running a special Independence Day promotion as part of its month-long programme.
