Sergeant A of Jeju West Police Station concluded the case as safe without confirming the safety of Mr. B, even though his wife reported him missing due to heavy debt from business failure. Mr. B was later found dead, and Sergeant A is suspected of previously falsely concluding the missing person report of Ms. Jang Miran. The National Police Agency issued a suspension order to four people in the command line, including the chief of Jeju West Police Station, for these problematic behaviors. Currently, the police are conducting a full investigation into 298 missing person reports handled and concluded by Sergeant A.
