This was about 3 years ago..
It was a day when my eldest was going to a lesson
from 8 to 9 o'clock..
Whenever my older one goes to her lesson, my second one is so happy..
Following dad to drop off the older one for her lesson..
I wait in front of that house for 1 hour..
It's only 5 minutes from home but going back and forth is a hassle..
On weekdays the phone is off-limits.. and the second one can use it without mom noticing(?)..
I just sit in the car like an idiot..
I was a bit bored..
So I tried talking to my second one who was playing a game..
' If dad dies, will you cry..? '
' Of course I'd cry.. what, should I laugh..? '
I was asking how sad she would be..
I don't know if she takes after me or who she takes after..
Either way, she wasn't wrong, so I just stayed quiet..
A little more time passed and I was bored again..
At the time, my second one had lost both of her front teeth..
But on one side a new tooth was coming in while the other side still hadn't come up yet..
So I asked..
' Why is only one tooth coming in on one side..? '
' Dad, you said you were a genius.. that side fell out first so it comes up first.. you didn't even know that..? '
' Oh.. '
Getting hit with two powerful jabs like that left me a bit dazed..
I watched curiously to see what game she was playing,
and it was one where you stack blocks to complete the puzzle..
It was a game that required some thinking..
As the levels went up it got harder..
My second one said it was too hard and asked me to figure it out..
I thought, now's my chance, and
I solved the puzzle for her..
' Use your head.. your head.. your head isn't there just to hold your hair on..'
I landed a good one..
But then without even looking at me, she kept playing the game and said..
' If it's attached to your head, of course it's called hair..'
