Kenny Rosenberg struggled in the June 20 game against Lotte at Gocheok
Foreign pitcher Kenny Rosenberg of the KT Wiz has been sidelined due to a thigh injury.
The KT team announced on June 22 that they have removed Rosenberg from the first-team roster.
Last season, he joined the KBO League as a foreign pitcher for KT and left the league due to pelvic injuries after recording a record of 4 wins and 4 losses with an ERA of 3.23 in 13 games.
This season, Rosenberg signed a short-term contract with KT as a replacement for Nathan Whales who was injured, and extended his contract once more to continue playing until now.
Rosenberg's seasonal record stands at 7 games played with 2 losses and an ERA of 4.80.
On June 20 in the game against Lotte Giants at Gocheok, he showed a significant drop in pitch speed from the early stages of the game and was pulled after allowing three runs on five hits over three innings.
The discomfort felt near his pelvis, where he had an injury last year, added to concerns.
The KT team stated, "The examination results revealed damage to the left thigh's quadriceps muscle. After being removed from the first-team roster, he will rest and observe his condition."
They further added, "It has been confirmed that this is unrelated to last year's diagnosed left pelvic injury (femoral acetabular impingement causing femoroacetabular collision syndrome)."
In other news, the Doosan Bears have also removed Yang Seok-hwan from the first team after he went hitless in nine at-bats during the weekend series against LG Twins.
Yang Seok-hwan was previously removed from the first team on May 4 and returned on June 18. He played only four games before being sent back to the second team again.
NC Dinos outfielder Park Si-won and Samsung Lions infielder Kim Jae-sang were also removed from their respective first teams on this day when there was no game scheduled.
