Starting in October, the prosecution will pilot a public indictment system for four weeks at four locations. During the pilot period, suspects will be interviewed instead of interrogated, and police will be actively requested to conduct supplementary investigations. In particular, investigations into cases involving detention will also be conducted through interviews, and prosecutors may directly conduct supplementary investigations upon request from victims or in special cases such as sex crimes. Based on the results of the pilot operation, problems will be improved and successful cases will be disseminated to other regions.
