A worker at a fintech company in China was fired because the company wanted to replace him with AI to save costs. The worker, named Zhou, initially oversaw the quality of AI responses and received a salary of 66 million rupiah per month. The company offered Zhou a new position with a lower salary of 39.6 million rupiah per month. Zhou rejected the offer and was fired. The court ruled Zhou's dismissal illegal because it violated China's Labor Contract Law and ordered the company to pay compensation of more than 686 million rupiah to Zhou.
