The Cheong Wa Dae recently rejected the recommendation of Son Bong-ki, Chief Judge of the Daegu District Court, for appointment as a Supreme Court Justice. In response, the head of the Court Administration Office said that respecting the authority of each institution is important and evaluated Son Bong-ki as an excellent judge. He also argued that it was difficult to see Cho Hee-dae, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, as sympathizing with the rebellion because many state institutions remained silent about his silence during the December 12th military coup.
