A large-scale flood in Nepal's Rasuwa region has resulted in the dispatch of a 44-member Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT) to search for and rescue missing persons, including Koreans. The KDRT consists of personnel from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KOICA, and the Fire Service, and will be equipped with rescue dogs, victim detection equipment, and underwater pumps. They are scheduled to operate in the affected area for approximately 10 days. This deployment follows a request from the Nepalese government. The KDRT will collaborate with the previously deployed government rapid response team to expand the search area. The KDRT has been activated 11 times since the Sichuan earthquake in China in 2008, making this flood relief effort in Nepal its 12th deployment.
