A sergeant of the Jeju Police Station Missing Persons Team was found to have falsely concluded 27 out of 298 missing person reports due to work stress. Sergeant A stated that he considered missing persons who were general adults as trivial matters and chose false conclusions because of the additional workload caused by unresolved cases. The police judged that Sergeant A's behavior stemmed from fatigue caused by accumulated work pressure and sense of responsibility based on profiling analysis. Sergeant A falsely concluded cases regardless of whether the whereabouts of the missing person were confirmed, and in some cases, he even entered reasons such as 'traffic accident death' into the system to delete records.
