Introduction
The Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KOCHAM) is a membership-based economic organization representing Korean businessmen and companies operating in Indonesia.
- Started in 1991 as the Business Division Committee under the Korean Association
- Officially established as the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KOCHAM) through an expansion inauguration meeting in 1999
- Organizational restructuring through the second amendment meeting in 2013
KOCHAM has established itself as an economic organization that provides necessary information to its member companies and supports the development and profit increase of Korean businesses, keeping pace with the rapidly changing Indonesian economic environment.
Main Roles
- Representative of Korean Businesses
- Performs a representative role by gathering the united strength of the industry
- Cooperates with resident country embassies, industry-specific councils and relevant organizations to solve problems
- Global Economic Organization
- Collaborates with major Indonesian economic organizations such as KADIN and APINDO
- Provides networking opportunities with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korea Trade Association and the International Business Chamber
- Partner of Indonesian Government Policies
- Participates in discussions on key issues such as investment, trade, economy and corporate policy
- Conveys business concerns and protects rights and interests
- Presents policy directions for the development of the Indonesian economy
