A padel employee with initials AL in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta (Jaksel), was kidnapped and tortured after allegedly stealing items from his workplace. Police have arrested four perpetrators of the kidnapping.
In a video circulating as seen by detikcom, Friday (26/6/2026), a person dressed in black, namely AL, is seen kneeling before a woman who is his mother. In the upload, it is narrated that AL was kidnapped and tortured for two days.
Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Metro Police AKP Joko Adi said that AL's side initially reported this incident. Then the Resmob team of the South Jakarta Police moved and subsequently arrested the perpetrator.
"Then from the perpetrator there are four people, with initials ASB, RRK, AH, and DW. Against these four perpetrators, detention has been carried out," said Joko to journalists at Jaksel Police, Friday (26/6/2026).
Joko confirmed that the reason AL was kidnapped by the four people was stealing items from his workplace. He said, the perpetrators of the abuse were fellow padel employee friends.
"So according to information that the person in question allegedly took items from his workplace," he explained.
"They (the perpetrators of abuse) are all working there," he added.
Joko mentioned AL had worked at the padel place for two months. Joko said, on Monday (22/6), AL was picked up from his house.
"His son with the alias initial AL, who on Monday June 22 was picked up from his house. Then taken and had not returned for two days," he revealed.
This made AL's mother, namely M, feel worried. Because of that, on Wednesday (24/6), she came to the South Jakarta Police and made a police report.
"Which then led to a series of investigations until we could arrest and then designate these four people as suspects," he said.
