Jakarta -
President of the Confederation of All Indonesian Labor Unions (KSPSI) Andi Gani Nena Wea said that tomorrow, Tuesday (30/6), there will be a coordination meeting between the government and the DPR to discuss the Draft Work and Budget Plan (RKAB) for mining.
According to Andi, discussing this RKAB issue is important to avoid the threat of layoffs (PHK) in the mining sector. He estimates that hundreds of layoffs will occur if the RKAB issue is not resolved soon.
"Tomorrow we will discuss it at the DPR, together with Mr. Dasco, together with the State Secretary, namely the Mining RKAB. The Mining RKAB is even more serious, threatening hundreds of thousands of workers. Because currently, 90% of mining operations have stopped because the Mining RKAB has not been issued," said Andi Gani at the KSPSI office, Jakarta, Monday (29/6/2026).
Andi Gani explained that the unfinished RKAB issue and the subsequent production quota cuts have impacted the cessation of mining activities and its supporting sectors, such as heavy equipment, dump trucks, and other supporting services.
He said that in Indonesia, Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) has already emerged with a plan to lay off around 18,000 workers who are members of KSPSI.
"The RKAB which was originally 100% reduced by the government through the Minister of ESDM to only about 20-30% resulted in all mining operational sectors coming to a halt. For example, heavy equipment, for example, truck drivers, for example, supporting mining operations have all stopped, and the number is hundreds of thousands," he said.
Andi Gani hopes that tomorrow's coordination meeting will result in good decisions, as the government has taken steps today to lower industrial gas prices.
"We will face this tomorrow, we will convey it to the government and hopefully the government will soon have made a decision on how to address this issue, how to address this issue so that it can be resolved like industrial gas. Hopefully, hopefully tomorrow there will be a press conference at 12:30 PM WIB regarding the government's policy on this RKAB," Andi concluded.
